Join Our Team: Digest Project Manager

Rate: $30/hour

As a digest project manager working with Inside Reproductive Health, you will be responsible for managing the distribution of up to five stories a month. Management includes ensuring weekly delivery along with overseeing the production and promotion of the digest.

THE OUTCOMES THIS POSITION WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR  

  • Managed up to 5 digest stories per month 

    • Used provided stories and assigned journalists for digest

    • Each weekly story approved prior to distribution

  • Digests distributed on-time every week by email. Weekly email campaigns are created using an email builder in MailChimp. 

  • The advertiser assets will be provided by the Traffic Manager via the Advertiser Strategy Intake document.

  • Weekly stories evaluated for readability, accuracy, and accomplishment of the established expectations

  • Google document comments used to communicate any necessary revisions or additional clarification from the journalist 

  • Scheduling changes coordinated if a weekly story will not be completed by the established deadline

  • A queue of completed stories tracked and maintained to provide a consistent flow of digests for release

    • Main Digest Template, for tracking digest outcomes and timelines

    • Templates for News Digest Story and Feature Sponsor News Digest Story

  • G Suite

    • Template used to assign topics to  Journalists 

    • Template for Digest creation

    • Google Drive location for journalist story submission creation and review

  • An accountant, for processing journalist payments

  • An operations manager

  • A social media coordinator 

  • A website coordinator

  • Email builder for digest distribution– MailChimp

  • History of previously distributed digests

  • Video on completion of MailChimp process

  • LastPass account, for ease of access to necessary accounts

THE TOOLS WE DO NOT PROVIDE (YET)

  • A podcast project manager

  • A journalist system to help identify the best match for the story. 

    • A rating system to help identify which journalists have the best track record with Inside Reproductive Health 

  • A queue of potential stories

  • A glossary of infertility organizations and people. These terms/people/organizations will have to be researched on the internet to provide further clarification, if needed, as there is not a collective compilation of previous articles.
